Ask a Question

The little brother to the Original, but follows the Anchor Caddie mantra of Stainless Steel and modularity.

The Cadet is offered in a clear brush finish that really brings out the beauty of the stainless steel. The width is identical to its big brother, but the overall length is a shade over 11”, compared to the 18 1/2″ of the Big Brother. It will also accommodate the same size anchors as its big brother, up to 1 3/4″ round bar and 1 1/2″ square river anchors.

The Cadet MAX comes with the Cadet Upgrade Kit installed, which includes the outside rollers, stainless steel pin & lanyard, as well as the rear impact plate, making it the right choice when it comes to deciding how to take your Cadet.

Made of clear powder coated 1/8" stainless steel. All stainless steel hardware. Mounting holes to accommodate 5/16" hardware (not included). Rollers and guards, made of UV resistant high density polyethylene.

One thing to keep in mind when you choose the Cadet or the Cadet Max, if you are installing it on a boat with a longer bow deck, the end of the anchor will likely rest on your bow. If this happens, the anchor will be elevated to where you cannot use the pin that comes with the Cadet. To avoid this, you can either raise your Cadet until the anchor clears your bow deck, or choose one of our other anchor nests. See screen shot below.

It is highly recommended to use an anti-seize compound on all stainless steel hardware installations.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Can I use a danforth anchor and will it stow away nicely on the nest?

    Hi Lee,

The Danforth style anchor will work with the Cadet, as well with all our other models. The tines of the anchor will fit under the rollers and the handle of the anchor will rest inside the channell of the Cadet.

The only thing you may need to do, if you want to use the pin that comes with the Cadet to secure your anchor is, drill a hole through the handle of your anchor at the pin location. Most Danforth and other anchors of that style, depend on having it tied off to a cleat to keep it secured in the anchor nest.

    Hope this helps!

  • can I use it off center . because I have a trolling motor square on.

    Hi John,

Yes, you can use it off center! The only thing is, the farther you go off center, it will chock your boat to the left or right, depending on which side you mount it on.
